Karl Diebach is quite desperate because his wife Maria has a love affair with a man called Haffner.One night he goes to the house of his pastor for help andthe son of the pastor convinces his father to go together to the house of Haffner and there to look for Maria.Karl, the pastor and his son meet there Maria half drunken, Mr.Haffner was quite arrogant and they come back to the house of the Diebach family.On the morning Haffner calls Maria and looks for her: they go to a lake.In the night Maria is in the house of Haffner,somebody rings the bell,Haffner opens the door and somebody kills him with a hit on the head.Maria finds the corpse of Haffner and calls the police.Of course Karll is the first suspect for this murder but he says that he is innocent.
The performances of Irene Clarin (Maria Diebach), Gerd Anthoff (Karl Diebach) and Hanns Zischler are very good.
