Joanna Moore Steals This One
AudioFileZ17 November 2023
Does Andy need a brick to the forehead with the message "marry this girl"? Maybe, but he's got the ever hem-hawing dimwitted Floyd Lawson. Floyd plants the seed that Andy is being played by Peggy in Aunt Bea's absence. Usually Andy would write off such as the ramblings of Floyd, but if he did then there wouldn't be the tension in the episode. I believe they should have made Joanna Moore's Peggy character Andy's steady because she lights up the screen and can sing well with Andy for that extra oomph. O. K., she's the prettiest girl Andy has dated is the number one reason. Her voice is pretty amazing too. Floyd is one goofy....

Down This Road Before

How someone like Andy, who has probably cooked fish and gone camping, can be so totally incompetent, after Aunt Bee leaves for a few days, as to be destructive, is beyond me. He burns up chicken. Goes upstairs while there is stuff cooking on the stove. There was a previous episode where the boys almost destroy every bit of property in the house. Anyway, Peggy is there and Andy is taking a ribbing from Floyd.

The Best Peggy Episode
scottschada@yahoo.com26 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Nowhere does Joanna Moore show her potential for charm than in this episode. It seems to almost have been written around her, although all AGS's are so well written, probably not. You really believe her when she says she "just likes to help out" the two bachelors Andy and Opie.

Andy finally realizes that just because an attractive female shows interest in him and his situation, that she isn't "out to get him". It's just possible that she is telling the truth and does like doing those things (cooking, setting up the table) for "needy" guys, regardless of what barber Floyd tries to feed him. This is a very timeless episode about many men and women.

Andy Griffith and Joanna Moore Make Beautiful Music Together
djclearie26 October 2017
Joanna Moore, mother of Tatum O'Neal, appears as Andy's might be girlfriend in one of four episodes in which she graced the Andy Griffith Show. The plot, as usual, is a simple one but the performances by the cast raise it above the mundane. Midway through the episode, Andy and Joanna give a front porch rendition of 'Down in the Valley'. The song is both folksy and moving and is one of the true gems of the Mayberry series. Noticeably absent from the episode is Don Knotts as Barney Fife. But the story moves well without him as Floyd the barber provides a foil for Andy.

Episode makes you feel good

Joanna Morore is really adorable in this episode. So cute I totally forgot no Barney until he's mentioned. Some classic Floyd (Howard McNair) snoop, & gossip scenes.

A friend helping a friend
mloessel2 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
In this episode Peg (aka Joanna Moore) the County Nurse offers to help out with the cooking and home ec duties while Aunt Bee is out of town. Sounds like a plan. But the Sheriff chooses to listen to Floyd the Barber who believes she has ulterior motives such as husband hunting. He was wrong and Taylor did well ignoring his advice. Peg was simply a friend helping a friend. The very last scene revealed her motives.

Moore lasted just a few episodes as the future Mrs Taylor (aka. Helen Crump) shows up as Opies' new school teacher. Unfortunately she is less charming, can't cook and has a jealous streak. Yuck! A little research revealed that Griffith didn't feel it was the right time for the Sheriff to have a full time girlfriend. Joanna Moore got my vote with her southern accent, southern charm and lovely voice. I believe Moore would've been the better choice but the timing was off.
