German eco-archaeologists have a new theory for the demise of Rapa Nui (Polynesian name for desolate, volcanic Easter Island), where the builders of the mo'ai (huge stone statues) and palm forest abruptly disappeared, generations before European colonization. Rats are discarded as culprits on chronological grounds. In fact changed habitation and cannibalism remains support the forest was sacrificed after climate change, food was grown afterward in artificial stone gardens, an even greater achievement, probably the status were wrecked after loosing faith in failing gods.

In the Andean Amazone highland jungle of present Peru's Chachapoyas province, named after the people the Incas called Sky walkers, lie their mountain cities, once ruling an empire of 500,000 Indians until the Incas enslaved them. It takes extreme archeology to reach their cave tombs etcetera.

In West Siberia's vast steppe near the Ural, German and Russian archaeologists examine a series of 4,000 year old fortified, spiral-shaped bronze age culture cities without palaces. There is evidence of agriculture and mining. Outside are rich warrior tombs with chariots, older then Egypt's. The spiral theme suggests far older stone age roots.
