It's a documentary about bullfighting and a particular bullfighter: Manolo Martinez
dorinda_re13 January 2007
Manolo Martinez was the most important Mexican bullfighter of the XXth century. He was a character in the arena as well as out of it, so strong that he could make the people hate him at one minute and the next, have them delirious and in ecstasy due to his art. He had suffer a big wound in his thigh by a bull that almost killed him, but he recovered and came back to be even better than he was as an artist and as a figure. This movie is a tribute to him, to his art, to his character, to his personality and to that ephemeral magic he created with the cape and the animals he immortalized. This man captivated not only women, but also men, because of his strong will and attitude, but that also created him many enemies which he fought with the same braveness he showed in front of the bulls. Juan Ibañez was one of his admirers, so he followed him around the Country to film him in those moments and try to capture in the film the passion, the fear, the loneliness of this remarkable man.
