This forgotten short about the great musician Pixinguinha presents the man discussing his music, how he was influenced in becoming a musician,
and some aspects of his daily life. Also included two or three old performances of his. One can't deny his important contributions to the Brazilian music, in the
samba and choro genres, both as a flautist and later on as a sax player, instrument that he became fascinated after returning from a tour on France. However, it's a
quite simplistic presentation of facts, it doesn't reveal many things so it's quality lies on the fact that the material was made, still existing though in a very
poor copy. A special moment comes from a performance of his playing the piano while his wife sings, and the story on how as a kid he kept awake at night listening to
neighborhood musicians playing many acts through the night. For a more detailed I suggest the feature biopic starring Seu Jorge, released on 2021 and which chronicles
in great detail the life and work of this masterful artist (a clip from this short appears in the movie as well). 6/10.
