In a scene early in The Fall Guy, a nameless crewmember buckles Ryan Gosling’s seat belt as his character is about to attempt a cannon roll, a classic car stunt, on the set of a fictional science fiction movie called Metal Storm. Gosling plays Hollywood stuntman Colt Seavers, who is reluctantly returning to the film business after an injury, but in many ways the real star of the scene is the background actor buckling him in, Logan Holladay. Though his screen time lasts only a few moments, Holladay was the real-life stunt driver for Gosling — the one who actually steered a Jeep Grand Cherokee down a Sydney beach and rolled it eight and a half times on the sand, breaking the Guinness world record of seven rolls set by Adam Kirley, the driver of James Bond’s Aston Martin in 2006’s Casino Royale.

Go on, take everything – and everyone down a peg. Courtney Love is going after some of the most popular female artists on the scene and of all time, taking digs at everybody from Taylor Swift to Madonna. Well, let’s hear it, Miss World!
Courtney Love’s former band Hole made its mark by being one of the key female-led grunge acts of the ‘90s. But for her, today’s music is all just a copy of a copy. “It’s great that there are so many successful women in the music industry, but lots of them are becoming a cliché…Now, every successful woman is cloned, so there is just too much music. They’re all the same. If you play something on Spotify, you get bombarded with a lot of stuff that’s exactly the same.”
So, which modern acts make Courtney Love’s celebrity skin crawl? Taylor Swift for one.

Courtney Love has never been shy when it comes to sharing her opinions about other people. Going all the way back to the early Nineties, the Hole singer has generated headlines by publicly trashing rock musicians, pop singers, movie stars, and even members of her own family. It’s a level of brutal candor you rarely see with public figures, but as Courtney Love told Rolling Stone in 1994, she simply doesn’t care what others think about her. “If people try to put me in the crazy box–’crazy fucking Courtney’–go ahead,...

With a new BBC radio series now launched, Courtney Love is once again proving the power of the adage “go large or go home.”
In a wide ranging interview with the UK’s Standard today, the former Hole front woman puts forth her take on some of the biggest names in the music industry. Let’s just say, Love bites in deep in the newspaper, to quote from her 1998 tune “Celebrity Skin,” to get her pound of flesh from Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Madonna and recent Coachella headliner Lana Del Rey.
“Taylor is not important,” the People vs. Larry Flint star says of the superstar.
“She might be a safe space for girls, and she’s probably the Madonna of now, but she’s not interesting as an artist,” Love added.
The contrarian opinion on Swift is a big shift from where Love was on the Folklore singer just over two years ago.

As if relationships weren’t already so complicated, in Hollywood, it is a completely different level of mess. From lies to secrets to cheating scandals, every other fairytale couple in Tinseltown has been through that and more. Especially if it is a high-profile case, the whirlwind leaves a few rumors behind in the dust. The highly publicized Angelina Jolie-Brad Pitt split is a great example of that, where Pitt was once linked with Fallout star Ella Purnell.

Back when Jolie and Pitt’s separation was fresh in the air, tabloids were busy sniffing out any possible names that led to the break up of Hollywood’s once favorite couple. And one of the rumors hit Purnell smack in the face, when it was reported that she and Pitt were getting it on together.

Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany in ‘Chucky’ season 3 (Photo by: Syfy)
Jennifer Tilly’s relationship with Chucky has lasted longer than most celebrity marriages. She was the Bride of Chucky in 1998. Thanks to 2004’s Seed of Chucky, Tilly has been playing herself in the series, too. And I’ve been talking to her since before Seed, and even moderated a Bride screening Q&a she attended.
So when I saw Tilly at the NBC Universal party for the Television Critics Association, Tilly saw my badge and said, “Oh, it’s Fred Topel, I have to talk to him.” Season three of Chucky left off with Tiffany (Tilly) in prison for the murders she committed in Jennifer Tilly’s body. Spoiler warning for past episodes of Chucky, and the twist of Fight Club if you’ve never seen that.
Chucky returns Wednesday at 10 p.m. on Syfy and USA.

Although recent years have witnessed fewer performances from Edward Norton, it is safe to say that fans do miss him. Norton has a reputation for being particularly intense on film sets, however, when he does, people are sure something great is going to come out on the other side. American History X was one such movie! His co-star in the movie, Edward Furlong, recently revealed what it was like working with such an actor.

Ever since 2016, the former It Couple of Hollywood, Angelina Jolie, and Brad Pitt have been embroiled in a long legal battle: over custody, alleged abuse claims, and business. After the custody battle for their 6 children, Jolie and Pitt seem to be clashing again and again over Chateau Miraval, the French estate and winery the couple had purchased back in 2008.

When The Walt Disney Company first acquired 20th Century Studios, fans had a field day joking about the characters in their library that were now under the Disney banner. Ripley from "Alien," Tyler Durden from "Fight Club," the titular "Predator," and all of the "Planet of the Apes" characters were now residents at the House of Mouse. Suddenly, viral memes declaring Dr. Frank-n-Furter from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" as a technical Disney Princess were inescapable. Ignoring the blatant inaccuracy of that statement, it does serve as a reminder that Disney is and will likely forever be synonymous with family-friendly fare.
When Steve Asbell took over as president of 20th Century Studios, he spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and assured everyone that despite being a part of Disney, this branch would be closer to "general entertainment," saying, "Some films will be more Disney-adjacent — 'Avatar,...

Brad Pitt is one of the pioneers of modern cinema as far as Hollywood and acting are concerned. Having started as a nobody and a background actor with no credits in many movies, Pitt has come a long way. While his looks and physicality seem to have certainly played a hand in his popularity, it is really his acting genius that has solidified him as an A-list Hollywood actor.

Turning down a job can sometimes come back to haunt you, especially if you're an actor who passed up a role in an acclaimed horror movie and later regretted the decision. This scenario may be difficult to imagine. After all, who would pass up the chance to be in a movie or TV show, right? As fans, though, it can be easy to forget that the movie business -- for all its glory, fanfare, legacy, and importance -- is, at the end of the day, just that: a business. A person in any industry may decline a job that doesn't feel like good fit, doesn't align with their schedule, or maybe would have them working with a filmmaker or co-star they unsure of for one reason or another.

The protagonist of David Leitch’s entertaining new action-comedy The Fall Guy doesn’t have many complaints about life as a stuntman. Sure, he does most of the hard work for half the recognition, but Colt Seavers (an ace Ryan Gosling) gets hype about jumping out of helicopters, diving off balconies and performing other dangerous physical feats that make movies look cool. He’s not an adrenaline junkie; he just understands the critical role stuntmen play on set.
Colt has been a stunt double for Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), an international superstar with a lethal combo of arrogance and insecurity, for six years. The two share the type of sacred bond that’s only possible with someone who is paid to risk major injury and possible death for you.

Its ungainly final twist and unreal violence sequences dim a film with a brilliant premise and rage that still stings
Twenty-five years ago, the ultimate bro film came out; it is now rereleased for the anniversary. David Fincher’s bone-splintering, soft-tissue-pulping Fight Club is the ultraviolent hipster-fantasy about a depressed white collar nerd befriended by a supercool alpha male and inducted into a secret bare-knuckle combat cult whose purpose is to restore real masculinity. When Mike Tyson, the former heavyweight boxing champion, 57, saw Brad Pitt having an alleged affair with his now ex-wife, he was prepared to administer the final rites to Pitt.
Well, apart from his combat skills, Iron Mike has demonstrated his acting abilities. Numerous beloved classic films have featured cameos from him. Meanwhile, Pitt is an acclaimed name in the entertainment industry, who rose to fame due to his charisma and acting prowess and quickly gained widespread recognition. It would not be shocking to see him as one of the biggest actors in the business, given his legendary acting career.

Ironically, because of an incident that left the former boxer scarred, Tyson and Pitt were almost prepared to face off. Not even he was sure what to do at that moment, being confused by the whole situation. Whatever happened, it would always be ingrained in Tyson’s memory.

Welcome to the twisted mind game that is Fight Club. You know, the late ’90s flick that had us all questioning our day jobs and contemplating the appeal of soap making. But as much as we love Brad Pitt’s abs and the mind-bending plot twists, it’s the rules of this underground brawling bonanza that really mess with our heads. So, buckle up, buttercup—it’s time to dissect these infamous guidelines and see just how they toy with our fragile psychological perceptions and shake up societal norms. Fight Club Rule 1 Let’s kick things off with the first rule: ‘You do not...

Apple TV+ has added more than 50 licensed movies included in the price of the subscription service — the streamer’s biggest collection of back-catalog studio content to date. But the third-party titles will only be available for a limited time.
Apple TV+’s lineup has mostly comprised original series, movies and specials commissioned for the platform (as well as a smattering of live MLB games). Now it has added a bouquet of older film favorites to the mix, including popular and award-winning movies like “Titanic,” “300,” “Argo,” “Black Hawk Down,” “The Bodyguard,” “Jurassic World,” “Gravity,” “Fast & Furious 6,” “Kill Bill” Volume 1 and 2, “Star Trek Into Darkness,” “The Wolf of Wall Street,” “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” “Mad Max: Fury Road,” the original 2004 “Mean Girls” and “Zoolander.”
The movies are listed in a new section on the service labeled “Great Movies on Apple TV+” — however, the service notes, these are available for a “limited time.

The move could signal a shift in strategy by Apple to finally incorporate more library titles into its catalog.
Is Apple TV+ finally getting non-original titles in its streaming library? Yes, at least temporarily, at any rate, as the streamer has added a total of 51 movies to its streaming catalog, spanning every genre and including some true blockbusters. Apple stresses that these titles will only be available for a limited time, but it could be providing a glimpse into its own future with the additions. Having long focused on high-quality originals without the studio archives or licensing library of its competitors, Apple V+ has been a somewhat different type of streamer since it launched in November 2019.

As Hollywood agencies and production companies increasingly turn to artificial intelligence to evaluate screenplays, a group of writers and creatives have come together to design a so-called barrier against the incursion.
Shane Black (“Iron Man 3”), Jim Herzfeld (“Meet the Parents”) and Akela Cooper (“M3GAN”) are among two dozen industryites who collaborated on the development of a new tech platform, dubbed the Gauntlet, in an effort to keep humans assessing screenplays at the gate-keeper stage rather than AI.
ScriptHop, a Hollywood tech company founded by former UTA story department head Scott Foster and tech entrepreneur Brian Austin, is launching the Gauntlet Tuesday with 30 freelance script analysts from such high-profile companies as HBO and Lucasfilm, becoming the largest organized group of professional readers in the industry.
ScriptHop advisory board member and screenwriter Herzfeld came up with the idea that sees screenwriters pay a $380 fee to run their script through a “gauntlet” of professional story analysts.

It started as a practical joke among friends, a way for superstar Brad Pitt and acclaimed director David Fincher to playfully mess with their inner circle on New Year’s Eve as the year turned to 2000. But the elaborate prank, involving staged Y2K chaos and fake federales with automatic weapons, ultimately left some psychological scars.
What Did Brad Pitt and David Fincher’s Prank Entail? Brad Pitt on Between Two Ferns
As per Cracked, on December 31, 1999, Brad Pitt and David Fincher gathered friends at a secluded Mexican resort to celebrate the millennium. But when the clocks struck midnight, instead of toasting champagne, the power and phones suddenly cut out, plunging the party into darkness. Moments later, the lights flipped back on as “government troops,” wielding Ak-47s, burst in to arrest one of Pitt’s friends, Mark Gervitz, on fabricated drug charges.

Brad Pitt is in talks to star in Quentin Tarantino’s 10th and supposedly final film The Movie Critic, even as one scene from the actor’s past continues to leave fans bewildered. The scene in question comes from the 1998 fantasy drama Meet Joe Black, in which Pitt’s character talks in patois in the hospital, fans have pointed out the “absurd” accent. Fans have derided the sequence as “absurd” for decades.
Did The 1998 Fantasy Flop Derail Brad Pitt’s Momentum? Brad Pitt in Meet Joe Black
In Meet Joe Black, Brad Pitt plays a manifestation of Death experiencing life in a human form. But there is this scene where he speaks patois, the scene after almost 25 years is still considered as “one of the funniest, most absurd.” Here are a few fan reactions to the scene:
Watched Meet Joe Black the other night and absolutely lost it when Brad Pitt starts speaking patois.

Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the most celebrated and successful actors in the movie industry, who has been captivating the audience with his mesmerizing performance since 1991. DiCaprio is probably the most versatile actor, and no matter which role you present him, he will not only portray it but also become synonymous with it. Naturally, fame and success followed him, as he received the highest form of praise, that is, the Academy Awards to honor his work.
Leonardo DiCaprio in The Great Gatsby
Even though Leonardo DiCaprio has a stellar career where he consistently charms viewers and critics, he has only one Academy Award, which remained a conversation topic among the fans. Greta Gerwig’s Barbie and David Fincher’s Fight Club seem worlds apart. While Fight Club is often seen as a celebration of tough-guy attitudes, it’s actually a critique of toxic masculinity. Whereas Barbie, based on the eponymous fashion dolls, is successfully wrapped up in the traditionally girly hue.
The difference between the two films (besides 25 years of cultural change) is mainly how they convey their message. Fight Club ends tragically, with the main character causing chaos in society.
On the contrary, Barbie gives its characters more control and shows a way to find a better sense of self. Yet, both are linked by one main goal—criticizing a society where men hold more power.

Disney’s Mary Poppins is 60 years old in 2024 – and it’s returning to UK cinemas in March to mark the occasion.
The joyous Disney favourite Mary Poppins is approaching a special birthday this year, with the movie – as the headline to this very piece suggests – now 60 years old.
Directed by Robert Stevenson, penned by Bill Walsh and Don DaGradi – based on the work of P L Travers of course – the movie is best known for the mighty Julie Andrews in the lead role. That and, of course, Dick Van Dyke’s entirely convincing Londoner.
It’s a much-loved movie that technically hits 60 this August. However, no problem with getting the party started early: we now learn that the film is returning to over 100 UK cinemas on March 29th 2024.

David Fincher’s modern classic Fight Club is returning to UK cinemas – and it looks to be getting a wide re-release in March. More here.
A film that cost 20th Century Fox a lot of money, that didn’t instantly turn a profit, and that apparently infuriated Rupert Murdoch? Ah, Fight Club. Not only an outstanding movie, but an absolute beacon as to why a film should never be judged by its box office take.
Since its initial release in 1999, the film has consistently made Fox money, via its assorted home releases. And it’s on such stature that for its 25th birthday this year, it’s getting a really rather wide cinema re-release.
Pretty soon, too.
Park Circus is putting the movie onto over 100 UK screens from Friday 15th March, just over a month from now. You can expect pre-booking to crop up soon, and hopefully, the release is...

Russell Crowe and Liam Hemsworth star in director William Eubank’s action thriller, Land Of Bad. Here’s an intense, shooty red band trailer.
Russell Crowe arguably gets the cosier end of the deal in the upcoming action thriller, Land Of Bad. While Liam Hemsworth wades through water, gets shot at, and seemingly gets involved in Fight Club-style fisticuffs, Crowe sits in a gamer’s chair and barking advice in an air conditioned military building.
Land Of Bad is the latest film from director William Eubank (who also co-writes with David Frigerio) – a filmmaker who broke through with the low-budget yet ambitious sci-fi Love in 2011. He later made sci-fi thriller The Signal (2014), the actually-pretty-good ocean bottom sci-fi horror Underwater (2020), and chiller sequel Paranormal Activity: Next Of Kin (2021).

David Schwimmer makes a bold choice with this ambitious, if not entirely seamless psychodrama. Starting out as a hyperactive life-in-crisis movie, like a more melancholy, introspective Fight Club, it swaps horses in midstream with a shocking twist that will likely alienate any viewers seduced by seeing the Friends star’s face on its promo imagery. Those willing to follow first-time director Jack Begert down the rabbit hole into the film’s surprising second half — which may seem completely unrelated at first, but soon reveals the film’s deeper themes of opioid use and the butterfly effects of addiction — will find it strangely satisfying.
In light of recent events involving Schwimmer’s former co-star Matthew Perry, Begert’s film has acquired an unintentionally meta level that, sadly, only underscores its main theme, which is the human cost of the pursuit of happiness in contemporary America. Schwimmer plays Martin Solomon, a screenwriter...

In January of 1999, two teen movies opened back to back and kicked off what would be one of the most extraordinary years for youth-oriented movies in the history of Hollywood. Both were No. 1 at the box office their first weekend. Both boasted remarkable casts of rising stars — they even shared a star in Paul Walker. And both whipped ancient genre conventions into new combinations that made them fresh and new. Yet for all their similarities, “Varsity Blues” and “She’s All That” couldn’t have been more different: one an R-rated sports drama that tempered its inspirational coming-of-age drama with surprisingly harsh depictions of misogyny and physical and mental abuse, the other a sweet, good-natured romantic comedy nearly as innocent as a Mickey Rooney-Judy Garland vehicle from the 1940s. In their similarities and differences lies the key to why 1999 was such a great year for movies of their type — the 1939 of teen movies.

This year celebrates 25 years since the final year of the 1900’s. A year that brought about such classics as The Matrix, Fight Club, American Pie, and Office Space as well as my personal favorite movie of all time: Arlington Road. The year was so successful that 20 years later it would inspire a book titled Best Movie Year Ever.
With a vast cannon of films ranging from highly anticipated block busting prequels (Star Wars: Episode 1- The Phantom Menace) to that years’ eventual Best Picture winner American Beauty and a movie that changed the meaning of twist endings forever (The Sixth Sense) 1999 truly was a year for the ages.
I will be honest, after compiling last weeks list for Best Movies from 1994 and now this list, I have to say 1994 was far more deserving of its own book! But that isn’t to say that 1999 doesn’t have a number of...

Fight Club: Here’s All You Need To Know About Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Ott Flick ( Photo Credit – Twitter; Instagram )
Finally, the wait is over, and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Fight Club’ is all set to stream after a long wait. After basking in the success of Thalapathy Vijay’s starrer ‘Leo, ‘ the ace filmmaker launched his own production house ‘G Squad’ in November last year. Lokesh had taken to social media to make the special announcement. Soon after that, he announced his maiden production ‘Fight Club’ starring Vijay Kumar.
The film, which hit the big screens on December 15, last year, received a lukewarm response from the audience and critics at the box office. While it failed to drag the audience to the theatres, it is now gearing up for its Ott release. If you have been waiting for its digital release, here’s all you need to know.

Some cliche somewhere said that ‘a picture is worth a thousand words.’ This has proven to be the case for me and especially when it comes to fan art. I have always sought out great fan art and have wanted to share it with as many people as possible. “Awesome Art We’ve Found Around The Net” is the outlet for that passion. In this column, I will showcase the kick-ass artwork of some great artists, with the hopes that these artists get the attention they deserve. That’s the aim. If you have any questions or comments, or even suggestions of art or other great artists, feel free to contact me at any time at theodorebond@joblo.com.
