Great example of modern Mexican quality cinema
congaman4 February 2006
One of the earliest films in the modern period of Mexican quality cinema. Bienvenido Welcome is a perfect mix between drama and comedy with a very unusual and quite authentic way of telling one story that becomes two. Gabriel Retes is known for his unorthodox approach to his stories and his very Mexican way of seeing drama trough a "comedy lens". In many ways He could be the Woody Allen of Mexican cinema.

Bienvenido Welcome tells the story of a man that, after cheating on his wife on a business trip, faces the possibility of having been infected with AIDS, and the various dilemmas he has to face. At first glance this might seem like any other ordinary drama, but this film has one of the must unusual and comical twists a film could ever have.
