Mien wins 15.000 guilders in the Mifax lottery and decides to visit her Foster Parents child in the Philipines. Then she realizes she has another Foster Parents child in Ecuador.
Because of trouble brewing in the Philipines, Mien & Koos decided to go to Ecuador instead. John's mother is severely ill, meaning he has to leave for Paramaribo. Koos becomes inadvertently becomes an accomplice to a burglary.
Koos thinks he's found the perfect gift to take along to Ecuador when he and Mien visit their Fosters Parent Child. Lydie is suddenly working overtime again now that John is out of the country.
Mien & Koos travel to Ecuador, accompanied by his fishing rods. Annie & Jopie will look after the Dobbelsteen household and take over Mien's household duties for Dr. Lydie.
Annie breaks a window while trying out one of Hans' golf clubs and causes a riot when she spots a mouse in the bedroom. Koos & Mien are very impressed with the way the people of Ecuador live with poverty.
Koos & Jopie try to fix up a trophy case for Café Carillion & Mien enters the football-pool. Lydie buys a new dress for a TV appearance in "Met Witteman" and Wiep shows off some of her designs to the shopkeeper.
Wiep is going to join John in Suriname for his mother's funeral. A lot of his relatives that aren't going, come round to tell her to take along gifts for the family. Hans is sent home from the hospital with a msra-infection.
When Koos is fixing up Mrs. Bijlstra's bathroom, he finds an old money box belonging to a previous house owner. They decide to split the contents, if any, but the problem is opening it. Jopie can do it, but demands 5% for himself.
With Wiep about to return from Paramaribo, Jopie & Koos make Lydie and Mien nervous with stories about drug smuggling. When Koos & Jopie visit a police station to report vandalism in the train, Jopie is reminded of an old fine.
Dr. Lydie and family receive Sinterklaas gifts but nobody knows who bought them. Two Sinterklazen get into a fight at Café Carillon and Koos & Mien end up playing Sint & Piet.
Flossie suffers from fleas. Hans needs a new suit. Koos & Jopie start a new business cleaning out people's attics. Mien is there first client and they soon rediscover Mien & Annie's long forgotten musical repertoire.
Mien & Annie are going to perform at their Aunt's eighties birthday. Wiep takes Mien to Rogier's store to pick up some petticoats and Marilyn Monroe shoes.
Lydie has a young male colleague looking over her shoulder at her practice. Mien thinks the doctor is looking for a replacement for Dr. John. Her suspicious worsen when the young man shows an interest in Wiep.
Lydie goes on a diet so she can fit in an old dress at Hans' upcoming party. Mien is also slightly overweight and needs to have a complete physical. Wiep has been commissioned to paint a cauliflower.
Annemarie buys an expensive outfit at Rogier's to go out on the town and Mien gets one for free to compensate for the alarm Koos & Jopie put in. Lydie gets annoyed at Annemarie's flirty nature with Hans.
Lydie has already had enough of her mother staying with them. John comes back from Suriname earlier than expected and finds Wiep finally ready to marry him. Koos' fixer-upper boat has been stolen.
Koos is disappointed when his missing boat is found because that means he won't get the insurance money. Several old acquaintances turn up in preparation of Wiep & John's wedding, which is nerve wrecking for Mien and even worse for Dr. Lydie's crockery.
