This is truly a gem in Mexican film making. Maria Gracia captures our sympathy since the opening credits, the movie can be too tender at times but it does not make it unreal. The fairy-tale like environment, music and script make this a fun and reassuring family film.
This movie is about a little girl that lost her parents and is being raised by her grandmother and her caretaker, a middle age man that also watches the old lady's poor farm.
Marita, as the little girl is named, does not have a care in the world. She loves collecting critters that make everyone else disgusted, this just shows her love for life. Her faith and love for her grandmother and friend take her on an adventure that touches the heart and make you feel good even a few hours after the television is turned off.
