The film's direction was not up to par, even though the pre-production was excellent and the chosen locations were very fitting. While the story was strong, the direction failed to do it justice. The pre-production team excelled, but the post-production team seemed to lack attention to detail and commitment. Film lacked emotions which were originally attached to the real story. Seems like film was shot in real location in Punjab which gives a little originality to the story. I guess this lack of finishing and direction stopped Imtiyaz Ali to release the film in theatres and he was very cautious.
