Mercedes Gleitze was an unassuming ordinary lady who had this great passion and love of the ocean. This film beautifully captures the essence of her love for swimming despite strong opposition and discouragement from most including the Amateur Swimming Association. The cinematography creatively captures the difficulties she had at sea given the obvious challenges but also makes you feel as if you were there with her. The period scenes were well received with a true sense of the correct era , again beautifully filmed. I sense this film has been creatively put together with a large helping of attention to detail. Definitely one to watch, and a huge credit to a director that is so young.
