"Everything makes sense, eventually."

Warning: Spoilers
This was quintessential Monk. Could it be he was even more neurotic and OCD than he was during the series? If ever an actor was made for a character, Tony Shaloub couldn't have been a more perfect choice for the role of the obsessively fastidious Adrian Monk. The portable hand wash machine 'Property of Monk' was pricelessly over the top. It was cool to see some of the old characters back for this last hurrah, if in fact this is truly the last case. The villain, Rick Eden (James Purefoy) was pretty transparent as the killer, and the method of solving the crime didn't seem to require an inordinate amount of detective work. The fun here was seeing our old friend Monk back in action, driving his friends crazy with his quirky behavior. There's no need for this to be the last case, as Adrian Monk can come back anytime, sure to be welcomed by Tony Shaloub's many devoted fans.
