This could have been great but suffered terribly from the writers not knowing when to stop. Granted, it kept me watching to the end and I certainly didn't see the twists coming, but only because they were so wildly unbelievable. Any comparisons to Wes Anderson and Quentin Tarantino are, frankly, insulting to two excellent directors. Pulp Fiction or Grand Budapest Hotel this is not. Badly handled, this level of violence is deeply uncomfortable to watch at times and any attempt to lighten things with humour largely falls flat. A strong cast does their best to drag this mess out of the mire but, time and again, the bizarre plot choices undermine them. A sometimes interesting, often infuriating watch but, ultimately, not good.
