I created an account specifically to give this movie a negative review. The premise for it is actually decent: what if a movie about talking dogs was actually super raunchy. The irony in that alone would allow for a decent hard R comedy. The potential is entirely squandered by the writing in the film. There are several major don'ts of comedy in here. First off: swearing is not inherently funny. Just because a character is swearing, doesn't mean it's a joke. But the script relies so heavily on obscenities for its humor. Unfunny lines are made to sound like jokes with an F bomb, making it less of a joke and more of shock humor. It just doesn't work here. The other issue I had is that it seemed like every joke went on for too long. It was almost like the punchline happens, then they just keep telling the punchline. It's a failed attempt at rapid fire humor that just falls flat. My biggest gripe with the film is just how dumb it assumes its audience is. Many jokes are explained by another character in the scene and many more rely solely on being obscenities to just turn normal dialogue into humor. I could see 12 year olds watching this behind their parent's back finding this funny, but it just doesn't work for anyone older than that.
