Ewoks: The Battle for Endor (1985 TV Movie)

No, not her, she's evil!

When marauders attack, Cindel and Wicket are forced to leave the village, they encounter a hermit. But is the danger over?

It's wild how much better than the first one this is. It actually has a plot, with a clear through line of the bad guys trying to gain power from a spaceship part, and dominate all humans they come across. There are way more creatures, and they're better spread throughout, instead of mostly confined to individual parts. Wilford Brimley delivers a great performance as expected, and it helps tremendously in grounding this.

The action is good and there's a decent amount of it, though it is definitely somewhat derivative of Return of the Jedi. Otherwise, this is about on par with its predecessor. The ILM effects continue to be great for TV standards, okay to good by Star Wars standards. The cinematography and editing are perfectly serviceable.

This features some incredibly dark material by children's movie standards. I recommend this to big fans of Ewoks and SW. 7/10.
