In New York, the NYPD Detective Lt. John Moss (James Woods) is a tough man that is hunting down the heartless criminal Party Crasher (Stephen Lang). In Hollywood, the famous actor Nick Lang (Michael J. Fox) uses his influence to team-up with John to research how is the behavior of a real detective for his next role. Captain Brix (Delroy Lindo) orders John to forget Party Crasher and spend a couple of weeks with Nick Lang as a partner in easy cases. But John Moss does not have the intention to follow the captain's order.
"The Hard Way" (1991) is another delightful movie from the 80's and 90's, the magic era of Hollywood. The fantastic James Woods performs a police detective from the old school, hard with criminals but shy with women. Michael J. Fox performs an actor that wants to learn how a real police officer behaves and decides to use John Moss as a laboratory. But he is good with women and tries to give advices to John Moss in this regard. The underrated Stephen Lang performs the role of a sick criminal that is chased by John Moss. The gorgeous Annabella Sciorra performs Susan, who has romantic interest in John Moss and meets Nick posing as John's partner. The result is a full of action movie with many hilarious scenes. My vote is seven.
