I love them except Kim and Lydia
4 June 2023
Lydia is fake. Kim is a narcissist and probably has some type of serious personality disorder. What I find disturbing about this show is its many contradictions but with that aside, Kim's divorcing Barry is about her getting back at Olivia by winning. Checkmate and she didn't like that she lost. It wasn't about Ethan at all. So by breaking apart their family she is saying checkmate because she knows it will guilt Ethan over to her side more (to connect more with the family).

And why raise your kids so strictly fundamentalist and then once they turn 17 or their 20s you turn back and embrace the life you had before kids that you cursed and said was wrong and deprived your children of, now saying that you didn't feel fulfilled without that as if Barry and the family made you give that up. Kim runs that family, Barry is too weak and too nice to have any kind of voice against her. He's frustrating and a bit creepy. I thought Ethan was like him at first but Olivia has saved him from his dads hell.

The show overall is enjoyable because of Olivia and Ethan. I love Olivia's transparency. I thought she was controlling and manipulative at first, then learned why she doesn't like and can't forgive Kim and that really helped open my eyes to Kim's narcissism. I believe Olivia, she is more complete without the pathetic weight of raising Ethan. He doesn't realize how much work he brings to her plate.
