Ray is overall an alright movie which inspired many other musical movies of singers. While it did leave lots of room for improvement for being a pioneer in the greatness of historical movies of singers it was great. It showed hardships of his life and how they affected him personally especially the fact that he had to overcome life as a blind man. He stuck with his mother's words of never letting someone make him a cripple but did hinder himself by taking part in hard drugs. While many may think that the movie painted him in a bad light, in reality it told the truth of his extraordinary life as a black blind singer during a time that the country was going through racial reform. I learned many things from the movie as well such as popular songs I had no idea he had written and a new form of music entirely, soul.
