Wicked City (2022– )

Good premise!

Warning: Spoilers
It's apparent this show didn't have the best budget, because there are just too many technical flaws, and plot holes. Like at the very beginning when Camille's mother is killed, she's on the floor holding her and screams "somebody help!" In an empty house. Secondly we have the scenes where the girls are helping Jordan with her spell, and they are drawing blood for the ritual... but then suddenly their hands are fine afterwards. Also why is there a sound effect when they cut themselves? It doesn't make a sound. Thirdly, Mona's terrible and forced Spanish, like it's never mentioned that she's Afro-Latina in the show, nor does it add anything to the narrative. I just found it in bad taste, because it's literally unintelligible. Also the lore behind what magic they're using isn't quite established... because we see they can cast spells, but yet they also have magic types from birth? Like Jordan is a reader, Angela uses plant magic, Camille has death magic... etc. Yet we don't see them cast spell to activate their magic and it makes you wonder can all witches use different types of magic? Or can they only use their own magic type? These plot holes coupled with questionable filming lower the quality of the show. And it shows towards the end of the show that the writers didn't have a fully thought out script, because in the end they kinda just skipped how Camille's plan was thought out. It made the final action scene really awkward as Claudette and the handler were just in the center of the pentagram kinda looking at each other. Honestly it was probably made up as they went along. Because you have a lot of poor post editing, you can easily tell when they voiced over scenes. Probably to avoid re-shoots. I don't think it's going to get renewed, but I enjoyed Sheries character a lot, until the Claudette part they kinda nerfed her.
