This movie, much like Gone With The Wind, was an epic masterpiece with its script also taken from a great novel. To be a masterpiece, i think a movie has to reach the bar of excellence in five areas: 1) SCRIPT (written from a great novel is a big help here, but despitecovering a great deal of tome and geography, the stirrups flowed well); 2) ACTING (The acting must be memorable, and many times a new actor or one less known will become a superstar like Omar S and Julie C did); 3) LOCATION (Great and memorable locations and scenery, and this was breathtaking at times); 4) MUSIC (Beautiful and memorable music such as Lara's Song must be included); and finally, 5) EMOTIONAL (THE movie must be an emotionally stirring and memorable, and the ending must leave your emotions twirling. I think DZ does that, and In my opinion it reaches the bar of excellence in all five categories, so therefore I think it is definitely an epic masterpiece.
