I actually laughed out loud several times. Some of those times were because of a couple nicely done millennial throw backs like "You don't know how to ride a bike?! ... I was taught books could take me wherever I needed to go!" It has the feel of movies from the 80s and 90s, like Hocus Pocus and Halloweentown. But this has updated references that probably resonate with gen z (I'm speculating here, I'm a single millennial female... and gosh apparently our fashion is back!) It's not overly cheesy nor does it have what some may call "wokeness". It's just wholesome, family-friendly, spooky fun! It was a fun watch when I wanted to get into some spooky szn vibes without actually being scared.
