Review of Wayward

Wayward (2022)
4/10
Predictable And Unrealistic
19 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I saw Wayward, starring Iyana Halley-This Is Us_tv, Licorice Pizza; Barton Fitzpatrick-White People Money, The Chi_tv and Darius McCrary-Saw 6, Family Matters_tv.

This is another of those B grade movies that are really bad-some B movies are good but this one isn't one of them. Iyana plays a girl that is on her way to a music festival in her van, travelling all by herself. She stops at a bar and meets Barton and they make a connection. She even invites him to go with her to the festival, claiming she needs company. You see, there is a serial killer working in the area that is killing and dismembering his victims-an equal opportunity killer, killing both men and women-and Iyana thinks she will be safer with company. On the road, Iyana and Barton notice that they are being followed by Darius, who gives chase and starts hitting their van and trying to crash into them, confirming their worst fears. The acting is amateurish, the plot has some twists, but they are predictable and the situations are unrealistic-a real person wouldn't act like that.

It's not rated but I would say it's an R for violence, grisly images and language and has a running time of 1 hour & 18 minutes.

I would not buy this one on DVD or even rent it. If you really have a hankering to see it, I would wait until it comes to tv.
