Imperfect, not broken

"All I See Is You" has a lyrical, artistic style, and a subtly dark story. While the juxtaposition is interesting, I'm not sure the end result is satisfying. A drama that could've been wholly told in the normal range of relationship dynamics veers off into the extreme. Dysfunction becomes villainy and not quite believably so. The film seems not to know whether to tell a hopeful or sinister story, and this gray area fascinates as well as disappoints because of now two different directions not quite fully explored.

This being said, "All I See Is You" is a decent meditation on the codependent behavior that can result when growth isn't accepted. Personally I wish the film decided to go the optimistic route, as the actors seemed mature enough to pull off natural parting of ways.

I think the artistry of the film is quite good, with many cinematographic shots in unusual locations (Thailand and Spain). The music lends atmosphere and party vibes when necessary.

I don't think the ending was needed, but I think the actors are good enough to give a loose, and then later overwritten story it's meaning and thoughtfulness.
