Some people should be very embarassed

And perhaps most embarrassed should be Diane Keaton. Or perhaps Matthew McDuffie (teleplay). Or perhaps Charles McDougall (director).

If I kept a list of the top ten dumbest movies I ever saw, this film would be on that list. I wasn't a fan of Diane Keaton when she was young, but as she matured I looked forward to many of her movies. This storyline was just plain foolish. It didn't have to be, but the way it was written sure was. Keaton should have known better. One of our reviewers said that maybe she accepted it because of the dearth of films for older actresses; with an estimated wealth of $100 million, she could afford to be a bit more choosy.

Some of the acting -- such as by Tom Scott (not that his character was very likable) -- was quite good. It was the script that stank.

I guess the only thing that I got out of this film was finally seeing an actor I had heard of, but never happened to see in a film before -- Chris Pine.

This film had great potential. But silly behaviors by characters -- particularly Keaton's character -- simply ruined it.

Recommendation? Let's put it this way...this was one of those films I watched all the way through constantly thinking 'can it really be this bad? Is there some big, gratifying payoff coming down line?' The payoff never came.
