Review of Penitent

Penitent (2021)
10/10
Cathartic and thought-provoking
17 September 2021
Penitent tackles such an important topic using the best of its low-budget, through the eyes of a writer who's been there and done it. Where other films use lots of dialogue and over the top effects, Penitent offers the viewer a glimpse of PTSD on a personal level.

It's dark and gritty and there's even a nod to The Exorcist in more than one scene. Watching Martin Webster's creation is like seeing an artist paint a masterpiece with only three colours. The hole team deserve praise for bringing the horrors of conflict to the masses without a hundred million pound budget. Great stuff to come from Webster Films!
