Fantastic viewing despite a few flaws

Warning: Spoilers
I thoroughly enjoyed this series, so much so that I made an account just to make this review.

The juvenile delinquents are great characters, especially "Justin" - Béla Gabor Lenz really nails the sensitive, almost likeable but ultimately terrifying psychopath. Most of the young characters are written in a way the makes you feel both sympathy for their circumstances and vulnerabilities as well as disgust or contempt for their darker sides. They are, of course, criminals with some pretty serious rap sheets.

Saying that, it is a real shame that a couple of the characters' backstories get totally ignored. Who was Hiro and why was such a seemingly nice, gentle guy part of this group?

I also have to criticise how overly complicated and unrealistic the sub plots get in the last couple of episodes. I think the show would have done just fine as a whodunit/survivalist story, without all the added drama and conspiracy.

Criticism aside, I still think this is the best show I've watched this year. Highly recommended.
