Undercover season 1 made its antagonist Ferry (Lammers) the nation's sweetheart. So much that they (awkwardly) shoehorned him in season 2. And now there is the prequel film in which we get to see how he became the lovable rogue from the series. I was pleasantly surprised: it is an entertaining film and in its tone and style fits the series like a glove. But Ferry as a standalone film is mediocre at its best. It feels more like a solid two hour episode than a solo fully fleshed out film. Fan of the series? Then this film will not disappoint. No fan or unfamiliar with Undercover? I would advise you to look for another gangster film.
