I loved the 1985 ITV production and was delighted when the BBC decided to bring their own delightful version to us in 2014. It's a shame there are only 3 episodes, it would be great to see more, but I think the moment may have passed now. At the risk of sounding pedantic, I checked the Bank of England calculator tool that gives today's monetary value year by year. The figure quoted for the weekly rental of 'Mallards' by Mapp is 15 guineas. During the mid 1930s, this would equate to about £1400. As beautiful a house it is, surely this figure is a bit over the top? Just a thought....
