This movie should be studied by anyone who is interested in film. It does a great job defining likeable characters, never falling into any cliches, it's not afraid to capture the real world, and it is almost a "who done it" movie, evoking themes of The Sting and The Hot Rock.
The film also is a heartbreaking look into the lives of Inglewood youths who have to suffer through high school and are constantly victimized by thugs, yet aren't about to sit around and mope since they intend to go to Harvard (Hell ya!) A very clever story unfolds with well done plot twists. Film students, study.
