The consequences of ego
2 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The film whilst addressing the controversial moments in JD's life appears to tell both sides of the story. Yet I imagine due to the constraints of film and also telling the story their are some important facts left out. However, I don't take Documentaries as Journalism for the whole. Considering that, it's a great story, well produced and edited story. I must say I absolutely loved the ending. An enjoyful film with some provoking questions on the meaning of one's life work. What lengths one may take for recognition, money and accolades, whilst reflecting on the impact of your decisions on those you love and your own legacy. What is the moment one "breaks bad" and how it's like a floodgate, If JD had only taken. Different path at a particular point then his and others lives would be better. JD had a healthy ego and he nurtured it with excellence and also selfishness it seemed he was predestinated to take the wrong road, if not an exciting road.
