I saw "Redemption Day", starring Gary Dourdan-CSI:Crime Scene Investigation_tv, Alien:Resurrection; Serinda Swan-Ballers_tv, Tron:Legacy; Ernie Hudson-Grace and Frankie_tv, Dragonball Evolution and Andy Garcia-Geostorm, Let's Be Cops.
This is a low budget action movie that has an unoriginal plot; the hero's wife is taken by the bad guys and he has to go in and save her. Gary plays a Marine that has been through a traumatic event during a firefight, so he keeps having bad dreams & flashbacks to the incident. Serinda is his archeological wife that goes on a supposedly safe dig site but-of course-ends up getting kidnapped by nearby terrorists. Ernie plays Gary's father and Andy is a US ambassador. The action is a little slow to start but it is adequate when they finally get going, just nothing out of the ordinary. There is a scene near the end of the movie with a semi famous actor-he was in a tv show called Prison Break-that has mysterious ties to the C.I.A. and it looks like it could be a set up for a sequel, but I doubt it. I don't think this movie will make enough money to warrant a sequel.
It's rated "R" for violence and language and has a running time of 1 hour & 39 minutes.
It's not one that I would buy on DVD but if there isn't anything else to watch, it would be alright as a rental.
