Warning: Spoilers
This review contains spoilers for the third episode of Band of Brothers entitled "Carentan".

The episode picks up where Day of Days left off. The airborne company is behind enemy lines and now seeks to capture the important crossroad town of Carentan. The episode follows the perspective of Albert Blithe as he deals with his first entry into combat. Easy Company must take the town of Carentan and defend it from a counter attack.

From the beginning to the end of this episode, the focus is on combat and action. This episode is one of the most action heavy episodes. The assault on Carentan and the defense from the counter attack is impressive to watch in a miniseries. The budget and pieces in this episode are great to watch. The viewer can see mortars, Shermans, German soldiers and tanks. The action is a great component of this episode.

The episode's focus on Albert Blithe is also a positive. The mini-series finally shifts away from Richard Winters to another soldier in Easy Company. This shift makes the show follow the enlisted men more. This makes the episode more on the action and the front-lines. Albert Bltihe in this episode has to deal with shell-shock as the result of combat. With Richard Winters' help, Albert Blithe is able to recover and deal with his problem better. I enjoyed this story-line a lot as it focused on the normal enlisted man.

One fact the episode gets wrong is Albert Blithe's death. I am not sure how the show did not get the detail correct. This is the only historical flaw in this episode and I wish it was corrected.

I highly recommend the third episode of Band of Brothers.
