Honestly, I wouldn't mind this show if it wasn't trying to pretend that it's Anne of Green Gables. Interesting storylines and ideas, good drama, but the only thing the characters share with the original are their names. While I am sure that Anne's life wasn't really as rosy as it is painted in the books, Anne saw life that way, she saw the magic in everything. Making a 'realistic' or 'darker' Anne is completely unnecessary and goes against the nature of the stories. I would like this show if it had any other source material. The main actress cannot pull off Anne's sense of wonder, she is awkward to watch at times. The pacing of the show is also very strange.
