A plethora of teen-themed movies emerged in the early 1980s. However, Baby It's You was exceptional. I was glad when some critics included the appealing John Sayles cinematic effort in their lists of top ten films of 1983. A 1967 high school graduate, I connected with the film's approach to that decade's inconstant atmosphere and unique physiognomy. John Sayles is a national treasure.
