6 Below's flashbacks do take a toll after about an hour in, and I'll admit I stopped watching them at that point, fast forwarding. I know that drug reform and that whole side of the story was important, but, quite frankly, this guy had advantages in life and I wasn't particularly moved. More than that, oddly, I thought it began clashing with the actual survival story, which, oddly, I was enjoying much more. In my humble opinion I think the drugs stuff should have been dealt with as a lead in to survival, not as an intrinsic part of the package. I also saw the movie Jungle (2017) last night, and that had a long lead in and some flashbacks but much briefer ones, and overall I enjoyed the timing of that movie much more. Don't get me wrong though, 6 Below is a very inspiring movie. By the end I really wanted to know what happened to the guy. Recommended. There's some good snowboarding too.
