Well acted and directed (although way too many flashbacks) but the story ultimately is dissapointing in that the deceased father turns out to be a (probably war damaged) fantasist who runs his life on a complete fantasy. Thats ok but he sucks in multiple women and basically destroys their and his/their childrens lives by lies deceit.
A sadcstory in which only the fantasist seems to win.
