While the production value is still top notch, there is alittle bit of a change in tone in this season. It's lighter and yet it's trying to be darker. It's hard to explain.
Whar bugged me the most in the first two episodes is, that they focus SO MUCH on the relationships between the characters and it doesn't seem to tie into the story. Of course this can still change, but atleast for now I can't see it, which might be good for payoff in the end, but it's not so good for these two episodes. It's feels like they are sacrificing episodes for setup, which is never a very good thing.
But negative stuff aside, the acting is good, the story so far pretty compelling and my god, the visual effects keep blowing my mind in Stranger Things.
