THE ST. LOUIS BANK ROBBERY is a B-movie thriller which everyone will be watching to see Steve McQueen in a much darker role than his one in THE BLOB. This one's a gritty black-and-white heist thriller in which some unpleasant bad guys decide to hold up a bank; McQueen is the reluctant driver brought along. Things don't go entirely to plan, leading to an impressively tense climax. The main part of the film moves at a sluggish pace and doesn't really have all that much going on, but McQueen is well worth watching and displays the star quality he would go on to make a huge career of.
