Yes, there are elements of Groundhog Day in this film as well as Scrooge, but it still comes out fresh and fun. Normally I can't stand Steven Weber's usual performance as a narcissistic jackass, but in this film, it totally works. For myself, the real stand out performance was Molly Shannon. She had me in stitches with her sarcastic quips and her face slap punctuated the situation perfectly. I watched it twice and on the second round, we both shouted out puns to match the way the lead was killed in each sequence...all around fun movie to watch and a great break from the factory of Hallmark romance drivel under the guise of "Christmas Movies".
