Praktan- A beautiful movie about moving on
25 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I came to know about this movie because of Jalebi, the bollywood remake of Praktan. I became interested in this movie as I got to know its not a movie about romance, but about moving on after the romance ends along with the relationship. Praktan didn't disappoint me at all. It's exactly a movie about moving on, and a beautiful one.

At first, we are introduced to two primary characters, Deep and Molly, and it is very clear that they both are very different from each other. Molly is talkative and cheerful, Deep rather reserved, carrying grudges from the past. As Molly begins chatting about her husband and home, Deep remembers about her experiences with the same man and we get to see the past through her eyes. Maintaining a marriage is not easy, and both Deep and Ujaan made mistakes. As the film progresses, we see how much contrast there is bewteen the past and the present, with Ujaan( Deep's former and Molly's present husband) changing himself for the better after his marriage with Deep ended. We also get to see how much of a positive force Molly is, transforming Deep in a short span of time.

There are other passengers in the train also whose journey the film shows, and each one serves its purpose one way or the other. I suggest you also to watch this movie, and I'm glad that this is the first Bengali one that I saw.
