A slow death

Warning: Spoilers
Honestly , this series of film re affirms the old saying truth is stranger than fiction.

Based on an actual case in California , Ladd plays the exact kind of bimbo we expect 1980s film , while I have not read its background I personally wonder if her character was physically created by the then market or by fact. It is well know that psychos are drawn to The mentally weak , not physical elements. The type that Sam Elliot plays would be this ilk.

Make no mistake Elliot's character is a serial killer by all operation.

After killing the husband in his home he then rapes his woman. Many of the aspects of The two characters were not fully explained. This really dulled the exploration of their Psyches. Was Elliot's character not killing Ladd motivated by sexual dysfunction or psychatric dysfunction , ie sex or torture , which sadly in this type of individual is a defining distinction.

The events themselves are logical as you can comment one way or another on Ladd's character going along with Elliot's psychological manipulations. Not much focus on the failure of the aloof parents to pick up on the long line of crap Elliot's character fed them while manipulating their daughter either. Not saying they enabled at all , but if this was in real life this woman's parents , talk about screwed.

After watching I am interested in finding out if the trial actually occurred that way in verbatim with Elliot's characters self defense statements. Over all law enforcement must have had their hands full. As far as the movie I think it missed on both fronts , the characters depth was not their and the events were too meekly filmed which left a flow in the film that felt like swimming an Olympic relay in creamy peanut butter.
