Miami Vice: French Twist (1986)
Season 2, Episode 17
6/10
Serviceable tale of foreign intrigue
15 June 2017
'French Twist' suffers from a few problems. One of them is the Season 2 criticism of Crockett or Tubbs falling for a questionable love interest, and another is the rather flat script. And that's the real reason it's a lesser episode for me. But it'd be unfair to leave it at just that because the episode's got a few things going for it. For one, a funny exchange between Crockett and Elvis (the gator's usually just a prop), or that Tubbs gets larger than usual role as a genuine cop with instincts.

Functional is a good word for this one, but it rides on the show's style and atmosphere.
