The Berenstain Bears have been around since 1962 with the publication of The Big Honey Hunt. The Big Honey Hunt spawned innumerable sequels such as Forget Their Manners, Get The Gimmies, and Go To Camp. The stories are very cute and are designed to reach the eyes, ears, and hearts of youngsters everywhere. This series is essentially a remake of the 1985 series but books that were adapted for that show (Forget Their Manners, Learn About Strangers, In The Dark, Too Much Birthday, The Truth, Messy Room, Get Stage Fright) haven't gotten any episodes here. These are more like the books with a few twists such as in the episode Week At Grandma's, we get to see what goes on with Mama and Papa during their trip, and in Go To The Doctor Sister helps another cub overcome her fear of the doctor. I have to wonder what Mama and Papa's names were before they became parents, I know Brother was originally called Small Bear and only became Brother when Sister came about later on. In addition to Mama, Papa, and the cubs there are also Gran and Gramps, Cousin Fred, Lizzie, Too Tall, Queenie, Farmer Ben, etc. Another thing I like is that this show takes on books that were available for the old series but just ignored (The Sitter, Go To The Doctor, Moving Day, Visit The Dentist, The Bad Habit, Too Much Junk Food, Too Much TV, Go To Camp, Week At Grandma's, and Trouble At School) and books that came out after the old show (Bad Dream, Double Dare, Get The Gimmies, The In-Crowd, Too Much Vacation, Trick Or Treat, Slumber Party, Trouble With Pets, Don't Pollute, Four Seasons, Trouble With Grownups, Too Much Pressure, Big Red Kite, Perfect Fishing Spot, Visit Fun Park, Nerdy Nephew, Female Fullback, Baby Chipmunk, Excuse Note, Giant Mall, Jump Rope Contest, Wishing Star, New Neighbours, Giddy Grandma, Birthday Boy, Lost In A Cave, Summer Job, Talent Show, Green Eyed Monster, Count Their Blessings, Go To The Movies, Pick Up And Put Away, Homework Hassle, Get Their Kicks, Lend A Helping Hand, By The Sea, Think Of Those In Need, House Of Mirrors, Catch The Bus, Stinky Milk Mystery, That Stump Must Go, Big Blooper, Haunted Lighthouse, and Papa's Day Surprise).
