Warning: Spoilers
This is a 13-minute black-and-white short film written and directed by John Maclean and starring Oscar nominee Michael Fassbender and Liam Cunningham, who always looks a bit like Jean Reno. Sadly he doesn't have the Frenchman's star power, otherwise this film from 4 years ago may have turned out better. Given that it is about the interesting premise of two safe-crackers having to do their job in complete darkness, it's a fairly disappointing outcome. Maclean had his first feature film come out this year and he seems on the rise. Just like in this one here and another short film he made, Michael Fassbender plays a major character in there as well. I liked "Slow West" and it is easy to see that he stepped up his game before he made this fairly forgettable short movie 4 years ago. A bit of a joke that it won a BAFTA, absolutely not deserving I must say. Not recommended. Go watch "Slow West" instead.
