The books were something new, as Norse myths were never seen in REAL fantasy. Marvel doesn't count as they only use gods as other kinds of superheros and villains. And finally, the movie is in cinemas now and it's one of the best movies Germany has ever made. It's even that good that it can be compared with Hollywood movies, even though it only has 1/50 of the budget.
Mara has daydreams and is annoyed by that, as she only wants to be a normal teenager. But as if being an outsider, always terrorized by bullies, wouldn't be enough, she learns, she has to save the world. And Mara has no idea, how, why, or what the h*ll is going on. That's how an exciting, but also funny adventure begins.
Just like Harry Potter the movie is not only for kids, but for adults as well. For people who like CGI, for people who like fantasy, for those who like humor, ... For everybody, actually.
