Chain of sex abuse victims

Warning: Spoilers
The presence of Mike Tyson, no stranger to the criminal justice system, in matters of sex crimes lends an almost eerie presence to this SVU story about a chain of sex abuse victims.

It all starts with Peter Scanavino who is a school janitor attacking coach Jack Dimich in a parking lot after he misinterprets something he sees. Questioning especially after Scanavino attacks another inmate on the Riker's Island bus leads to the SVU squad to start investigating Ed Asner who plays an old coach who is an old hand at working with young people. This is after Kelli Giddish does some research and finds an unusually high number of prison inmates who were once kids in one of Asner's programs.

This is where old enemies Mariska Harigtay and defense lawyer Andre Braugher join together and go to Ohio where Mike Tyson sits on death row for a killing. Turns out he was one of the kids that came under Asner's wing. And that in turn leads Braugher to take Tyson's case for a stay of execution.

With Mariska Hargitay helping Braugher so she can gain a witness and the rest of the squad back in New York investigating Asner it's a double track the squad is on.

Two things the episode emphasizes, the integrity of the discovery process which was at fault with Tyson's case and the fact that sex abuse victims become abusers themselves. Ed Asner created a whole army of them.
