Another good one from India

Warning: Spoilers
Rather good Indian Film, released into England cinemas nationwide.

The major plot is strong, the action is crunching and the tension is well sustained. The problem with this film like most Indian films that could have international appeal is the light hearted comedy and musical numbers that get in the way of the plot.

Personally if I was the producer I would have had Kumar already married and had his wife blown up on the bus and in his grief, show us some of the light hearted stuff and the romance in a flashback sequence.

But since this movie was made for its domestic market, the viewer has to accept the traditional plot contrivances and go along with it. I would have liked to see a bit more of Rocky the dog after his set-piece, but the director seems to have forgotten about the poor hound.

Ashkay Kumar is an actor whose films I have watched since Rowdy Rathore through to Once Upon A Time in Mumbai is surprisingly overlooked by international producers and its a shame, he would make a good Bond villain or hero in different types of films set outside of India. Looking at his features and some of the campy dance routines he takes part, he could easily play Freddy Mercury in the often muted but never produced biopic.
