I don't know if it's being a Brit, but few American 'comedy' shows make me laugh; I find the canned laughter particularly irritating. So, it is a refreshing change to find a show that doesn't try to make me laugh when it is not actually being very funny.
The point is, this show IS funny! Very funny, and to me at least, slightly scary and uncomfortable, but that might be that I am an ex-hippie, and the whole corporate 'profit above all else' is sometimes too horrible to laugh at. To be completely oblivious to the total lack of morality in their behaviour - the spoof adverts being created are a real hoot!
Excellent characters; the research geeks are outstanding, and Linda is great. Portia De Rossi is seriously chilling as Veronica, I find myself frequently thinking, "s***, I've met someone almost like that..." ...!!
It's on the 'record series' list of my PVR, just in case I have to miss one.
