6/10
It's better the second time around
1 July 2009
I read the book before watching the movie. I have to say, the book isn't very good. The style of writing did not fit in with the mood. So, it wasn't very thriller, although some parts of the book were tolerable (like the relationship between Jamie and her father). I watched the movie right after reading it, and i hated it (it was better than the book for sure). I couldn't imagine how someone who is going through so much could have so much faith in god, in life. I certainly wouldn't. So I decided to watch it again this weekend and I have to say, I get it now. This is a story about how two people learn and sort of complete each other. Some lines are very corny and it's mixed in with some bad acting, but the story isn't half bad. You will either sob through the movie or turn it off half way. It really all depends on what sort of mood/light you watch it in.

I would give this movie 6.5/10, but I can't.
