Could have been great
23 February 2008
This film is about a man recalling his childhood and teenage memories, as his father lays dying due to cancer.

The scenes are nicely composed, but I think mirrors are way overused. There are times when an entire scene consists of mirror reflections. There are also times when it seems the film is playing through a kaleidoscope.

I was thoroughly confused between who is who in 'And When Did You Last See Your Father?", because of the lack of introduction of the characters. This is made worse by having the same characters in three different eras, namely childhood, teenage and adult years. It's a great pity, because "And When Did You Last See Your Father?" would have been touching and beautiful if I understood it more. Instead, I found it a terrible bore.
